Sarah Scherini
Sarah Scherini is a visual artist and high school ceramics teacher. During her childhood in SC she enjoyed a backyard containing an abundance of red clay which she made ephemeral sculptures with, an early stage in her obsession with dirt. After graduating from Winthrop University with a BFA in Sculpture & Painting, she obtained her graduate degree in art education at MassArt. Sarah splits her time between the wheel and handbuilding and loves to explore iterations of surface manipulations. When not in the ceramics studio she enjoys playing with non-traditional materials (like bread!) to create sculptural works, drawing the world around her, constantly dabbling in new art mediums, and battling weeds in her garden. Sarah loves teaching and holds firmly to her philosophy that Art is for Everyone, regardless of perceived skill or technical knowledge.
